All you need to do is mix Scotch whiskey and Drambuie, and serve it on the rocks (over ice). It’s a classic cocktail that’s meant to be sipped on slowly, perfect for an after-dinner digestif.
Drambuie (pronounced dram-boo-ee), if you’re not familiar with it, is a whiskey liqueur that has a hint of spice and honey to it. It can be traced back to a special recipe that was made for Bonnie Prince Charlie in the 18th century. The name itself comes from the Scots Gaelic “An Dram Buidheach,” which translates to “The Drink That Satisfies.” We couldn’t agree more.

Rusty Nail Recipe
- Prep: 3 minutes
- Total: 5 minutes
- Serving: Makes 1 cocktail
- Combine ingredients. Pour the Scotch and Drambuie into a mixing glass.
- Ice it up. Add in ½ cup of ice and stir until chilled.
- Strain. Place the strainer on top of the mixing glass and pour into Scotch glass over 1–2 large ice cubes.
- Sip. Sit back, relax and enjoy the taste.
