Battle of the Brands: Takis vs. Flamin’ Hot Cheetos

Kanye West vs. Taylor Swift. Alexander Hamilton vs. Aaron Burr. Takis vs. Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. These are some of the most iconic feuds of our time

Kanye West vs. Taylor Swift.

Alexander Hamilton vs. Aaron Burr.

Takis vs. Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.

These are some of the most iconic feuds of our time. Unfortunately, we can’t go back in time to save Alexander Hamilton or hold a friendship intervention with Kanye and Taylor. But we can buy our two favorite spicy snacks and see how they compare.

There are no losers in the epic battle between Takis and Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. Just red-dust-covered fingertips and a pleasant burn on your tongue. If you’re a spicy food fan, grab your bags and a glass of water and let’s begin.

Takis

Takis are hugely popular in schools, and for good reason. This Mexican snack packs a surprising depth of flavor. Take a bite and you’ll immediately get delicious hits of lime and spice. The spice lingers as the lime subsides, making your mouth feel like it’s taking a perfectly hot bath at the end of a long day.

Takis are also great for anyone who enjoys a snack with a crisp crunch all the way through. We love the thin, tightly rolled tortilla chip.

The only problem with Takis is that they aren’t always available in local stores. Check out Gopuff to have them delivered right to your doorstep.

Citrus lovers will find Takis’ lime flavor irresistible. We keep going back for more, too. When it comes to Takis, the kids know best.

Flamin’ Hot Cheetos

If you grew up with Cheetos as a kid, you know that Chester Cheetah is a dangerous bad boy. So are Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. There was an air of playground mystique around them for many of us. Teachers are great, but let’s not forget the real heroes: The kids who ate Flamin’ Hot Cheetos on a dare.

Unlike Takis, the heat from Cheetos builds over time. Before you know it, the spice is tickling your throat. Some people say Takis are hotter, but in our view, you just taste the spice more quickly. Cheetos might actually deliver a purer spiciness.

Another big difference between Cheetos and Takis is the texture. Cheetos’ puffiness gives it an airier feel when you take a bite. That lightness is deceptive, though. Before you know it, you’ve eaten the whole bag and your mouth is on fire.

So, who wins our battle of the brands between Takis and Cheetos? Well, that’s going to depend on you. Do you love the taste of lime? Takis will win your snacky heart. Need to have some puff? Cheetos should take your vote.

We vote to keep eating both.
