Here’s What College Football Fans Are Ordering on Game Day

With school back in session and a chill in the air, you know what that means: college football season is upon us! To celebrate the arrival of tailgating season, Gopuff compared orders during the first five college game days this season with the five Saturdays preceding it to see what brands each college town is flocking to. Here’s what we found for some of our biggest college markets:

Texas A&M: College Station, Texas

Aggie fans seem to really enjoy pizza before the big game, with brands like Hot Pockets and DiGiorno as their top 2 most-ordered, compared to the previous time period.

The Florida heat seems to have swayed Gopuff customers at the University of Florida towards beverage brands as their choice tailgating treats – with the exception of Swedish Fish.

Kentucky Wildcats ordered a mix of top brands, but the data suggests that they enjoy a lot of iced tea to fuel up before their games with lemon juice and tea brands in their top 5! This classic southern staple is a perfect way to cool down for a heated game.

In this data, we noticed some interesting patterns about some of these top school’s fans. University of Tuscaloosa fans seemed to really like their caffeine, whereas University of Florida and University of Georgia fans seemed to just wanted to stay hydrated under the hot southern sun. In addition, University of South Carolina fans looked to gravitate towards better-for-you brands, where University of Tennessee did the exact opposite, leaning towards sweets.
