We are thrilled to share that Gopuff has entered into an agreement to acquire rideOS, a San Francisco based enterprise start-up that builds cutting-edge proprietary technology for advanced routing, on-demand dispatch and fleet optimization for the fast-growing delivery and logistics industries.
At Gopuff, everything we do is for our customers, and delivering orders quickly – every time – is a crucial element of the customer experience. As we launch in more complex, high-density cities and countries, accelerate geographic expansion, and enter into new verticals, rideOS’ proprietary technology and team of industry-leading experts will enable us to accelerate innovation, power multi-modal deliveries, and continually reduce delivery times to improve the customer experience worldwide.
Sharad Sundaresan, Gopuff’s SVP, Product & Growth, said, “rideOS is among the best mapping, dispatching and routing technology firms in the industry and we are thrilled to have them lead innovation in key sectors for Gopuff. This investment will enable Gopuff to continually improve the customer experience in more complex geographies as we continue to be a leader in the Instant Needs category worldwide.”
rideOS was created in 2017 by two founding members of Uber’s Advanced Technology Division on mapping and self-driving vehicle technology, Justin Ho, CEO, and Chris Blumenberg, CTO. Ho and Blumenberg built rideOS into a platform-agnostic distributor of critical information across fleets, and over the past year, the company has rapidly scaled innovation for last-mile delivery and logistics. The rideOS team will now form a wholly owned and operated subsidiary focused on driving innovation in delivery, routing and logistics
“Gopuff’s mission and global ambition is a natural extension of the rideOS’ vision to build software that efficiently moves people and things throughout the world,” said Justin Ho, co-founder and CEO of rideOS. “We see this as a unique opportunity to scale our culture, values, team, products and technology, for a company at the forefront of defining the Instant Needs economy. Given Gopuff’s exponential growth, we expect to significantly increase our headcount by the end of this year, expanding our presence in Silicon Valley, Pittsburgh, and Berlin.”
This is an incredibly exciting time at Gopuff and rideOS are looking to grow their respective engineering teams in Berlin, San Francisco and Pittsburgh. Each company is currently seeking senior software engineers focused on optimization, routing and maps, backend engineers, product managers, data scientists and product designers.
