Gopuff fulfills its $1 Million Health Care Support Initiative commitment
Gopuff Donates Over $300,000 to Organizations Fighting COVID-19 Across the Country
June 11, 2021
In March of 2020, Gopuff launched its $1 million Health Care Support Initiative to support health care and hospital workers on the frontlines of the pandemic. Over the past several months, we’ve donated order credits to hospital workers, held a rally for health care workers and more. As the last phase of this initiative, we’re proud to support so many local organizations that have been a pillar of strength for their communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Most recently, Gopuff donated $300,000 to local health care organizations working on the frontlines of COVID-19 across the nation:
Baltimore Civic Fund in Baltimore, MD
Banner Health Foundation in Phoenix, AZ
Denver Health Foundation in Denver, CO
Emory COVID-19 Impact Fund in Atlanta, GA
Family Health Centers of San Diego, CA
Hope Mission Center in Miami, FL
Houston Professional Firefighters Association in Houston, TX
Mission Language and Vocational School & SF Latino Task Force in San Francisco, CA
Philadelphia Black Doctors COVID-19 Consortium in Philadelphia, PA
Philadelphia FIGHT in Philadelphia, PA
Rush University Medical Center COVID-19 Response Fund in Chicago, IL
Upham’s Corner Health Center in Boston, MA
Valley Youth House in Philadelphia, PA
“The COVID-19 pandemic has again demonstrated the necessity of a strong and vibrant network of community health centers in Boston and around the Country. We thank Gopuff and their team for supporting Upham’s mission to provide health and wellness to at-risk populations, communities of color and low-income individuals in their neighborhoods. Quality health care should never depend on someone’s zip code, background or economic status.”
Jagdeep Trivedi, CEO of Upham’s Corner Health Center
Gopuff made a $50,000 donation to the Black Doctors COVID-19 Consortium, a local Philadelphia organization focused on educating and advocating for African Americans to reduce the incidence of disease and death from coronavirus. The organization has helped thousands get tested for COVID-19 and is now also offering free vaccines.
“Community health organizations like Philadelphia FIGHT have played a huge role in our battle against COVID-19 and in our massive vaccination efforts. The Philadelphia FIGHT team has always worked hard to keep our community safe and healthy, and their tireless effort over the past year amid the pandemic has been truly admirable. We are grateful for Gopuff’s generosity in giving back to the groups that have done so much for our residents during a challenging time.”
Mark Squilla, Philadelphia 1st District Councilmember
“The COVID-19 pandemic has disproportionately impacted the Latino community, at times accounting for over 50% of test positive cases in San Francisco while Latinos only represent 14% of the population. We have been hard at work over the past year in an effort to keep those in our San Francisco Latino community safe, supporting outreach efforts, mobile testing and community care. This donation from Gopuff will enable us to continue providing much-needed access to vaccinations, health care and more. We’re grateful for their recognition and support and look forward to continuing on our mission.”
Valerie Tulier-Laiwa, SF Latino Task Force
Gopuff made a $15,000 donation to the Banner Health Foundation, a local Phoenix organization that secures and stewards charitable contributions to invest in facilities and programs that support advancements in care, research, health education, patient services and a variety of community programs.
Gopuff is proud to support these essential organizations who have been serving us in the past year of the pandemic, and to have fulfilled our commitment of $1 million to help those fighting COVID-19.
