La Colombe
In 1994, founders Todd Carmichael and J.P. Iberti built La Colombe on a simple but ambitious mission: to make the world better through coffee. What started out as a vision for serving the best coffee to the country, became an opportunity to influence meaningful change around the world.
What began with a single Philadelphia shop is now an empire well on its way to its goal of elevating coffee for growers and drinkers by focusing on responsible sourcing and the culinary experience. In Philadelphia, La Colombe has 5 locations, including Rittenhouse Square, Fishtown and Independence Mall. Order the coffee that’s going to better your world here.
Famous 4th Street Cookie Company
In 1982, Famous 4th Street Cookie Company began: cookies were baked, people lined up and couldn’t get enough—and it’s still the same today. Through it all, some things haven’t changed: they still use the same tried-and-true recipe for their Chocolate Chip Cookie.
Famous 4th Street still uses only the finest, all-natural ingredients, with no artificial colors or flavors and only pure genuine chocolate chips. Their cookies taste homemade because they are homemade—with the same premium, all-natural ingredients Grandma used, just like the first day they were served back on 4th Street so many years ago. Order the famously delicious cookies here.
Federal Pretzel
Long before a woman moved into the business world, Maria Nacchio had the foresight and wisdom to purchase a property and begin a soft pretzel company in Philadelphia. She wanted to produce a unique product that was not sold within the vicinity of her little store.
Remembering the delicious soft pretzels from her travels in Europe, Mrs. Nacchio thought this might be what she was looking for. In 1922, with the help of her children, she gave the city a snack that has proven to be a never-ending Philadelphia “Love Story.” She gathered the finest ingredients and began formulating the recipe which is still used today. Order the beloved Federal Pretzels here.
Side Project Jerky
Side Project Jerky is the result of countless hours spent testing drying times and marinades for perfectly textured and flavored jerky. Side Project provides a unique jerky eating experience that’s a cross-country road trip’s length away from your typical gas station brands.
Their creative yet approachable flavors are inspired by a sense of place, so you’re always reminded of home no matter where your jerky journeys may take you. Live well, eat jerky, order for instant delivery here.
Hank Sauce
The tale of Hank Sauce dates back to 2006 when 3 friends made a homemade hot sauce that became popular at cookouts and gatherings, and made limited batches for classmates and friends. As time went on, the people wanted more!
Over the next few months, no cookout or feast would be complete without a bottle of Hank Sauce. Fast forward a few years and nearly 700 accounts later, and the sauce is still being made by hand by a small crew which has grown to include a few clutch friends and family members. Order the not-too-hot Hank Sauce here.
Reveal Avocado Seed Brew
One day while making a bowl of guacamole in the kitchen, Reveal founders Zuri Masud and Sheetal Bahirat realized they were left with more seeds and skin than pulp. They had a lovely snack, but created so much “waste” in the process.
That was the day they decided those gems were no longer trash. Reveal is the Drexel grads’ first line of beverages made from upcycled products, and they are happy to reveal their first drink is a special brew made from the avocado seed!
Their mission is to create beautiful, environmentally safe and socially responsible upcycled products by discovering the hidden value in the food people would normally call trash.
Their hope is to reduce food waste, continue to create and support sustainable systems for sustainable living and inspire everyone to discover the hidden gems in the world around us. Order sustainable and tasty drinks here.
Bassetts Ice Cream
A fifth-generation family business and a Philadelphia tradition since 1861, Bassetts Ice Cream Company is a full-service frozen dessert distributor, offering outstanding products and superior service.
When Reading Terminal Market opened in 1892, Bassetts signed a lease, and it’s been there ever since. They are the last remaining original merchant at the market. A staple in the community, Bassetts is now available for delivery on Gopuff! Order Philadelphia’s favorite ice cream here.
Frutero
Frutero Ice Cream’s inspiration came during a trip that Frutero’s co-founder, Mike, took to India in 2018. Vedant, Frutero’s co-founder, who grew up in India, recommended that Mike try the tropical fruit ice cream, which is a huge phenomenon in the country. Just as Vedant expected, Mike loved the creamy tropical fruit ice cream—something he’d never tasted in the U.S.
Once back in Philadelphia, Mike and Vedant started making ice cream. The goal at Frutero is to make the world’s best tropical fruit ice cream. They scour the globe to find the very best fruit: mangoes from Colombia, coconuts from Thailand; they try dozens of varieties of each fruit before selecting the best ones for Frutero Ice Cream. Order the decadent tropical ice cream here.
