December 1, 2020
Grilled cheese is a quick and classic recipe that always hits the spot. Though we all know that, for whatever reason, a diagonal cut grilled cheese tastes a little bit better, we also know it’s all about that crispy, golden brown crust and melty cheese. Check out the best-ever grilled cheese sandwich recipe to make the perfect easy lunch or dinner. Just don’t forget the tomato soup for dunking!
How to Make Grilled Cheese
Grilled cheese is one of the simplest recipes, requiring only three ingredients: bread, butter, cheese. The best part? You can use whatever variation you want. For the simplest version of a grilled cheese, melt some butter on a pan or griddle, throw a couple of slices of bread on it and slap some cheese on top! Try experimenting with spinach artichoke grilled cheese, bacon grilled cheese and avocado grilled cheese, to name a few.
Best Cheese for Grilled Cheese
The best cheese for grilled cheese is all up to personal preference. The classic cheese for grilled cheese is American cheese, of course, but there are plenty of other options if that’s not your speed. Provolone and cheddar also serve as great basic options, but muenster, goat cheese and brie can also make great fancier options if you’re looking to refine your palate.
Best Bread for Grilled Cheese
White bread is the OG bread for grilled cheese, mostly for its soft and airy consistency. To get some added texture in your grilled cheese sandwich, try bread like ciabatta, multigrain or pullman loaf for heartier options. Remember, the choice is all yours, as long as you master the diagonal cut and that melty cheese moment when you pull it apart!
