How is scotch made?

Maturation: The new whisky is placed in oak barrels to mature after distillation. The aging process occurs in warehouses, where the whisky absorbs flavors from the wood and undergoes chemical changes over time. By law, Scotch whisky must be aged for at least three years in oak barrels.
Bottling: Once the whisky has reached the desired level of maturity, it is removed from the barrels, filtered, and often diluted with water to reach the desired alcohol by volume (ABV). It is then bottled and labeled for sale.
