In the wake of Hurricane Milton’s devastating impact on Florida on October 9th, Gopuff took swift action to support the communities it serves. With many local communities hit by two hurricanes in as many weeks, Gopuff launched an in-app donation tool called “Give With Gopuff”, enabling customers across the country to send everyday essentials like water, toilet paper, first aid, non-perishable food, pet food, diapers and more to those affected by the storm — with all donations matched by Gopuff.
All donations made via Give With Gopuff were sent to the Volunteer Florida Foundation’s Florida Disaster Fund, which supports critical response and recovery activities in the state. Thanks to the generosity of its customers and a special contribution from football legend Tom Brady, Gopuff and its customers donated a total of $275,000 towards hurricane relief efforts.
From October 22 to November 13, Gopuff transported seven truckloads of product to the Volunteer Florida Foundation’s Disaster Relief Receiving Center in Ocala. Those trucks were carrying:
135,572 bottles of water
50,775 trash bags and resealable bags
23,169 diapers
16,548 electrolyte packs
16,338 snacks, such as trail mix, beef jerky, granola bars and more
15,072 rolls of toilet paper
Plus, thousands of tissue boxes, pain relievers, wet wipes, paper towels and other paperware items, menstrual care products and band-aids
Looking ahead, Gopuff’s new “Give with Gopuff” tool is ready to support future donation efforts, ensuring that in moments of crisis, communities have a reliable way to receive and send essentials to those in need. Gopuff remains dedicated to supporting the communities it serves when it matters most.
