Donation to the Red Cross provides food for those affected by Hurricane Ian.
October 6, 2022
On September 28, Hurricane Ian made landfall in Florida, dropping more than 20 inches of rain in some parts of the state and leaving catastrophic damage in its wake.
As part of our continued commitment to supporting our communities when they need us most, and through our partnership with the Red Cross, Gopuff has taken action to support those impacted by the hurricane. On October 5, Gopuff deployed two trucks carrying 23,502 products, mostly protein bars and healthy snacks, to Red Cross shelters in Arcadia and Fort Myers, Florida.
The Red Cross has 16 total shelters providing food and temporary housing in Florida and has provided more than 356,000 meals and snacks to date from these shelters since Hurricane Ian struck. We welcome you to join us in supporting the Red Cross’ effort to help those affected by the storm by donating at this link: https://www.redcross.org/donate/cm/gopuff-pub.html/
Earlier this year, Gopuff announced a partnership with The American Red Cross to help support disaster relief efforts. Through the partnership, Gopuff committed $450,000 in financial and in-kind donations to help ensure the Red Cross is prepared to meet the needs of people affected by disasters across the U.S.
Gopuff and the Red Cross also launched a new, first-of-its-kind pilot in our hometown of Philadelphia: When a disaster happens in Philadelphia, Red Cross caseworkers identify those impacted and determine what is needed and where. Local Gopuff locations in Philadelphia then collect the items needed and deliver to those affected.
