Supporting The Greater Boston Food Bank for Hunger Action Month

With a physical presence and team in each market we serve, Gopuff is committed to impact-based giving to support the many communities where we operate. Combating food insecurity is core to this mission: last year, Gopuff donated over 1 million pounds of food to food banks for those in need. 

With the hunger crisis at an all-time high, Gopuff launched a campaign to combat food insecurity during Hunger Action Month this year. The company partnered with The Greater Boston Food Bank to give back to the local community – one of Gopuff’s first and largest markets. 

Through this campaign, which consisted of an in-app category, and support for the food bank’s annual WCVB Day of Giving Telethon, Gopuff is proud to donate a total of $50,000 to The Greater Boston Food Bank. 

“We are facing unprecedented need in our community brought on by several overlapping emergencies that are putting many of our neighbors in financial distress, grappling with the high cost of living and having to make tough decisions every day between paying for food, housing, healthcare, or other basic needs,” said Catherine D’Amato, GBFB’s President and CEO. “It takes great community partners like Gopuff to see this problem and take action to make a real difference. We are so grateful to Gopuff for your generosity which will provide 100,000 healthy meals to help GBFB feed Eastern Massachusetts.”

Hunger Action Month In-App Category

Throughout the month of September, Gopuff ran an in-app campaign to help raise awareness and funds for The Greater Boston Food Bank. For every product purchased from the Hunger Action Month category in September, Gopuff donated $1 to The Greater Boston Food Bank. 

Thanks to the support of the local community, Gopuff is excited to announce that the $25,000 goal was reached! 

Supporting The Greater Boston Food Bank’s WCVB Day of Giving Telethon

In addition to the in-app category, Gopuff’s Boston-area team joined The Greater Boston Food Bank on Boston’s Channel 5 News for its annual Day of Giving Telethon. Gopuff volunteers took phone calls and donations while also presenting a $25,000 corporate donation to The Greater Boston Food Bank in support of their efforts to fight hunger.
