Gopuff is proud to announce it has partnered with The Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility (Responsibility.org) to develop and launch the “Core Four,” a set of guidelines that all alcohol delivery services should commit to adopting. 

It is imperative that alcohol deliveries are done in the most responsible manner. In adopting the Core Four, alcohol delivery companies dedicate themselves to customer safety and compliance. The Core Four principles are:

1. Confirm alcohol deliveries are only to those over the minimum legal drinking age of 21.

2. Prevent delivery to those underaged, intoxicated, or where prohibited by law.

3. Provide education on safe alcohol delivery to individuals that deliver alcohol.

4. Implement policies to comply with these standards. 

Gopuff has always taken the responsible sale and delivery of alcohol extremely seriously. We have robust systems in place to help prevent the sale of alcohol to underage customers and are constantly working to evolve and improve those systems. Those processes and systems include several steps, such as: 

• Leveraging technology to verify a customer’s ID at the point of delivery

• Offering and requiring delivery partners to complete training curriculum, including courses about proper ID verification processes, ensuring customers are not intoxicated, safety and more

• Implementing several operational measures and policies to ensure the responsible delivery of alcohol

• Issuing regular communications reminding delivery partners of our policies and the importance of following all applicable laws

• Establishing zones where deliveries cannot be made, including around some college campuses

• Running a secret shopper program that covers and checks deliveries in regulated product markets nationwide
