Gopuff’s Thanksgiving Donations

Gopuff is in the spirit of the Giving Season with new donations

December 01, 2020

Understanding and benefiting all the communities in which we work and deliver is very important to us —especially in our hometown of Philadelphia— where Gopuff regularly contributes to local organizations making a difference in the city. This holiday season, Gopuff made donations to multiple local charities in Philadelphia and beyond to deliver a little joy.

We kicked off the season of giving a little early with Halloween candy donations to Boys & Girls Clubs in Miami, Philadelphia and Portland, thanks to our partners at Mars.

Local Clubs used the thousands of pieces of candy we delivered for their own distanced Halloween celebrations for club members.

More recently, Gopuff also partnered with MANNA, the Metropolitan Area Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance in Philadelphia, to support the organization’s mission to provide nourishing meals and nutritional education for those in need through MANNA’s largest fundraiser, Pie in the Sky.

As MANNA’S exclusive delivery partner, Gopuff is delivering specialty frozen apple and pumpkin pies in the greater Philadelphia area, with proceeds going directly towards preparing and delivering Thanksgiving dinners for families in need!

Continuing our commitment to our communities, Gopuff donated several carloads of essentials to WMMR’s Preston & Steve Campout for HungerCampout for Hunger is an annual food drive that benefits Philabundance, whose mission is to drive hunger from and eliminate food insecurity in the greater Philadelphia area. This year, the drive is on track to bring in 2 million pounds of food and essentials to our area’s families!

Gopuff has also partnered with the nonprofit organization Global Citizen 365 to donate school supplies to a Philadelphia school in need. As part of this initiative, Gopuff paired with Cayuga Elementary School; although schools will remain virtual for now, supplies are still desperately needed!

In addition, Gopuff partnered with Atlanta Public Schools (APS) and donated kid-friendly essential items for families picking up meals at King Middle School. Since APS moved to an all-virtual instructional model in March, the District has delivered approximately 120,000 meals per week to students.

Thanks to a waiver announced by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, APS began providing free meals to all children (ages 1–18) in all communities throughout the district in September. Thanks to Gopuff, 1,000 students from the King Middle School community each received a tri-color spinning highlighter, toothbrush, toothpaste and fruit snacks.
