Gopuff 2024 Delivery Partner Survey
Gopuff’s latest survey reveals delivery partners highly value flexibility and the unique benefits of Gopuff’s model.

This November, Gopuff surveyed delivery partners seeking feedback on their experiences with our platform. The 2024 survey results show similar feedback to what delivery partners have shared with us repeatedly: they appreciate the unique benefits of the Gopuff platform, love being part of the Gopuff community, and given the busy lives they lead, value flexibility above almost all else.
Gopuff delivery partners juggle many important responsibilities in life.
Nearly half of all survey respondents said they are parents and about 30% are single parents. Another 16% said they are in school and 12% regularly participate in volunteer work or community service. In addition to juggling family and school, 73% have at least one part- or full-time job (23% have multiple jobs outside of earning with Gopuff) and half earn through other self-employment opportunities, including delivering or driving for third-party services.
With this in mind, the vast majority of survey respondents told us they view their earnings with Gopuff as supplementary to their primary source of income. Some partners said they are earning with Gopuff to pursue a new business, save for emergencies, reach a long-term goal (like buying a home or sending a child to college), or simply maximize time with family by earning when they want. A few partners shared more specific anecdotes about why they chose to earn with Gopuff:
“Income for some expenses, but mostly income for all the fun things I want to do like concerts or traveling.”
“To pay odd bills”
“Saving for emergencies, car repairs, outings, and additional income at times.”
“To supplement my current income.”
“Keeping busy during semi-retirement, extra supplemental income”
Flexibility remains paramount: 99% of respondents said having the flexibility to deliver when they want is important, with 80% saying it is ‘critically’ or ‘very’ important.
With many delivery partners serving as caretakers, working part- or full-time jobs, or actively in school, it’s not surprising that they place the utmost importance on having the flexibility to earn when they want.
In open-ended responses, delivery partners shed some light on why flexibility matters so much to them:
“Flexibility is the biggest factor that influences my decision to deliver with Gopuff. I have a day job, so it is imperative that any part-time work I do can be done outside of regular business hours.”
“The flexibility to deliver around my children's school hours”
“There are multiple things that are great about delivering, I feel the flexibility is most valuable to me as I have 3 children.”
“Gopuff has everything that I need. I'm a single mother of children with disabilities and Gopuff offers me the opportunity to bring income to my family.”
“Having my own schedule, getting to know new places in the city, spending more time with my family.”
“You can earn money whenever you have time. You can be your own boss and work whenever you want.”
Delivery partners appreciate that Gopuff’s unique model creates a convenient one-stop shop for order pickup and fosters a greater sense of community.
Because Gopuff is vertically integrated, the process for delivery partners is streamlined. Gopuff employees prepare each order within our micro-fulfillment centers so that, when delivery partners arrive, all they have to do is scan and pick up pre-packaged customer order(s). Partners don’t have to do the customer’s shopping or navigate to a new restaurant or store for every order. Once the order is picked up, delivery partners take orders to customers within a small radius. Delivery partners tell us these differentiators matter:
72% of respondents said having single or limited pickup locations was either ‘very important’ or ‘critically important’
80% said not having to deal with passengers, restaurants, and grocery stores is important, with 63% saying this is ‘very important’ or ‘critically important’
83% said the size of the delivery zone was important
92% said free parking is important and nearly half rated this as ‘critically important’
70% of delivery partners are satisfied with the Gopuff experience and are proud to be part of the Gopuff community
When asked why they choose to continue earning with Gopuff, or what the best part about delivering with Gopuff is, delivery partner feedback further underscored the benefits of Gopuff’s model:

“Love the warehouse workers and a majority of my regulars I deliver to.”
“We keep a happy environment for both packers and delivery drivers during the small interactions we have with each other. Packers motivate delivery drivers to drive safe and Drivers motivate packers to keep packages organized.”
“The dignity and respect that I receive from the staff and the other partners. They are awesome.”
The Convenience of a One-Stop Shop
“It’s much faster to walk in, scan the order and its contents, and be on the road within a few minutes increasing how many orders I'm able to complete versus having to shop in store, wait in line at check out, bag and double check if all items are present and correct, and or having to substitute items for different variations or flavors if the item the customer asked for is sold out.”
“The best part of delivering with Gopuff is the combination of flexibility and efficiency. Drivers pick up orders from centralized warehouses, meaning no need to travel from one restaurant or store to another for each order. This setup reduces wait times and makes routes faster, allowing drivers to complete more deliveries within a shift.”

The Perks of Working Within Delivery Zones
“Gopuff is the only app I partner with where I know I'm only going to go *so* far on any given trip, while still making good/decent money. That and bathrooms and not having to deal with delays at pickups is what makes Gopuff a winner for me.”
“It seems like because of the delivery radius I’m not putting as many miles on my car compared to other delivery platforms which helps with vehicle maintenance and the cost of gas to make working with Gopuff feasible.”
Looking Ahead
Gopuff continually gathers feedback from delivery partners and then works to improve their experience based on their direct input. For example, in years past, we launched Instant Cash Out, enhanced earnings transparency, and introduced several partnerships in direct response to delivery partner feedback. Additionally, while over 80% of survey respondents have health insurance, Gopuff has partnered with Stride to give delivery partners access to affordable, quality health insurance coverage and discounted access to FUTURE Health’s unlimited virtual doctor visits and prescription medications at no extra cost.
The 2024 Delivery Partner survey shows that 86% of delivery partners plan to continue earning with Gopuff in the next 6 months and the majority said delivering with Gopuff feels rewarding. Looking ahead, Gopuff remains committed to listening to delivery partners and working to improve their experience through partnerships, technology, and more.
